I would like to know how far back your information on boot polish was taken; for I once did a research on boot polish and I clearly remember that the contained very many very toxic chemicals in them. Chemicals which can cause death, serious injuries to health and Brain damage. My research focused on the period 1800’s up to 1980’s and polish made specifically in the UK and Austrailia

It was never that toxic, at least as far as I’m aware. It contains nitrobenzene, which used to be considered carcinogenic, but not any more. But if you have any information, please pass it on to me
