i put alfoil on my windows with water to cut out light & heat. I have now removed the alfoil but there is a residue left on the windows. I have used soap & water, metho, turps & windex to remove the residue but nothing works except scraping it off with a razor blade. Is there a product I can use to remove the residue?

Hydrochloric acid. It won’t damage the glass so you can use it as strong as you want – make sure you wear gloves and glasses when you use it. 1:1 should do it. Use a nylon scourer – you can use an ordinary rag but it’ll fall apart pretty quickly
